6-10 (depending on size) fresh peaches-peeled, pitted, and sliced 
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 cups sugar, divided
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup milk
1 cup boiling water
3 tablespoons butter
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray a 9 x 13 inch baking dish with cooking spray.
2. Stir together sliced peaches with cinnamon and 1 cup sugar. Set aside.
3. In a medium bowl, cream together butter and remaining 1 cup sugar.
4. Mix together flour, baking powder, and salt. Add to butter mixture alternating with milk.
5. Pour into prepared pan.Top with peach mixture.
6. Stir 3 tablespoons butter in boiling water. Pour over the peaches.
7. Bake in preheated oven 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes, until the crust is golden brown.
