Chocolate Pecan Pie

3 eggs
1 c. light corn syrup
1 c. sugar
2 T. margarine, melted
1 t. vanilla extract
1/8 t. salt
1 c. pecan halves
1/2 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
9-inch pie crust


Beat eggs slightly in a medium bowl; blend in syrup, sugar, margarine, vanilla and salt. Stir in pecans and chocolate chips. Pour into pie crust. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes; reduce oven to 350 degrees. Bake for an additional 25 to 30 minutes, until golden and puffed on top. Cool before serving. Serves 8.
