Ingredients:
8 oz. Cream Cheese, room temperature
2 sticks Butter, softened
2/3 cup White Sugar
2 1/2 cups All purpose Flour
2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
Filling:
1 1/2 tbsp. Butter( softened), thin layer
Cinnamon Sugar( 1 cup brown sugar - 1 1/ 2 or 2 tbs cinnamon, depending how much cinnamon you want)
Cream Cheese Glaze:
4 oz. Cream Cheese
1 tbsp.pure vanilla extract
1 tbsp. Milk
2/3 cup Powdered Sugar
Preheat oven to 350 F. In a large bowl add cream cheese, butter, sugar,and vanilla cream together until smooth. Then add flour and mix just until combined. Knead dough out on lightly floured surface and knead 5 times or until smooth then wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for an hour. Use rolling pin and roll the dough out into a rectangle shape. Spread a thin layer of softened butter over top of dough then sprinkle brown sugar cinnamon mixture over top. Start with the end closes to you and roll the dough up pinch closed. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and place in the freezer for 1 hour cut the dough in half and put half the dough back in the freezer. Slice the dough to 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick place sliced cookies on parchment lined cookie sheet. Bake the cookies for 20 to 25 mins. or until lightly golden brown. Cool cookies completely before adding the frosting to the cookies.
In a small bowl add softened cream cheese, powdered sugar,vanilla, and milk mix until combined. Put this mixture in a piping bag and pipe frosting over cooled cookies. Enjoy!
