for the chocolate chip cookies:
1 stick butter, softened
1/2 cup white sugar
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1-1/3 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
for the chocolate cookies:
1 stick butter, softened
1/2 cup white sugar
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
3/4 cup white chocolate chips
In a large bowl, cream together softened butter and sugars. Add in egg and vanilla and mix just until combined. Add in dry ingredients and mix well and then add in chips. Cover and refrigerate at least one hour.
Preheat oven to 325*F. Take about a tablespoon of each dough and roughly form into a ball and then smoosh both balls together. Press sides to for a ball and flatten slightly. Place onto an ungreased cookie sheet and bake 12-15 minutes or until just barely golden brown around the edges. Let cool on the cookies sheet for a minute or two and then remove to a wire rack to cool completely. Makes about (24) 3" cookies. Enjoy!!
